IT asset management
A clear inventory of (not only) your IT assets. Information about who's using an asset, what condition it's in and where it is — down to a user's assigned equipment, a departmental list, and the full history of repairs and inspections — is on hand whenever you need it.

Where visibility into your assets breaks down
In most companies, IT asset records live in three disconnected worlds at once: in the head of one experienced administrator, in a handful of spreadsheets, and in the accounting system, which knows the purchase price but not where a device physically is right now. As soon as the company grows or that key person leaves, the whole picture falls apart.
Missing records don't announce themselves every day — they show up at the worst possible moment: during an audit, an insurance claim, a laptop refresh where nobody knows which units are still under warranty, or when you're trying to work out whether a departing employee returned all their equipment.
The answer isn't yet another spreadsheet someone has to chase up by hand. It's an inventory that fills and updates itself — from the real state of the network — while still letting you record what can't be picked up automatically, such as furniture, phones, toners and accessories.
“Not having visibility into your IT assets gets expensive at exactly the moment you can least afford it.”
One source of truth for your assets
MagikINFO automatically scans the network, reads the hardware configuration and installed software on every station, and stores the results in a central inventory. There's nothing to copy out by hand — the data collects itself and updates with every change.
On top of that automatically collected data, we build an inventory you can shape yourself: your own asset categories, locations, cost centres, responsible owners, documents, warranties and any custom fields you need. For every device you can see its full history — when it was added, where it's been, who it was assigned to.
It also covers non-electronic assets and accessories, so laptops and office chairs live in the same system. That makes MagikINFO a fully-fledged asset database (CMDB), not just a computer scanner.
What the solution covers
- Automatic hardware audit
The complete configuration of every station — CPU, memory, drives, peripherals — with no manual work. - Software inventory
An overview of installed applications and their versions across the whole organisation. - Custom categories and fields
Shape the inventory around your own processes — cost centres, locations, owners, documents. - History and lifecycle
For every device, see its full history from purchase to disposal. - Documents and warranties
Link invoices, delivery notes and warranty periods directly to an asset. - Non-electronic assets
Record furniture, phones and accessories for the complete picture.
Everything the inventory can do
Barcodes and printing
Design and generate barcodes to your own requirements, assign them to assets automatically or by hand, and print them straight onto labels. Start from scratch, or reuse your existing labels.
Stock-takes with a mobile app
Run regular stock-takes with a terminal or any phone with a camera — just scan asset barcodes with our Android app.
Online stock-take in the web portal
Every user sees their assigned assets in the web portal and, on request, confirms them — or flags an item they no longer have.
Reports, handovers and transfers
Reports are available at every stage of the lifecycle — taking an asset into use, transferring it, or disposing of it. View and print them for a single asset or for a user's whole set.
Grid or tree structure
Shape the asset overview your way: a grid with rich filtering, or a tree structure running from locations through organisational units and users down to individual assets.
Custom classes, types and properties
Set up your own asset classes, types and properties so the inventory fits your needs exactly — including filtering, sorting and grouping fields.
Roles and permissions
Assign asset administrators geographically (by location or organisational unit) or by asset type — for example, separating who manages computers from who manages mobile phones.
Repairs, maintenance and inspections
Record every repair, in warranty or out of it, and set up regular inspections or certifications with an advance email reminder.
Import and AD sync
Import assets from your existing records (xls, csv, sql) and export to various formats. Sync users straight from Active Directory.
How it works in practice
Rolling this out isn't a revolution, and it doesn't take months of preparation. We work through clear steps, and the system starts delivering value almost immediately.
Mapping the current state
we run a network audit and, within minutes, you have a first real picture of your hardware and software.
Setting up the inventory
we add categories, cost centres and custom fields to match how your company works.
Adding context
we link documents, warranties and owners, and record the assets the network can't see.
Ongoing operation
the inventory keeps updating itself — you just pull reports and handle changes.

Frequently asked questions
Yes and no. Computers, along with the monitors connected to them, are collected automatically from stations on the network. Some types of printers and network devices can also be pulled into the inventory from the network. You add things like mobile phones, SIM cards and various other devices by hand.
Yes. Alongside the computers picked up automatically, you can record any other asset or accessory, including your own categories and fields.
Yes. MagikINFO includes report templates, including various types of handover reports, which can be customised — for example to match your company's style. Besides printed reports, you can also use an online handover report in the MagikINFO portal web environment.
For computers, it's on every station audit. Changes to configuration and software are written into the inventory automatically, so the data stays current. For everything else, it's up to you how up to date you keep the records.
You can record events such as purchase, transfer, loan, commissioning, disposal, repairs and more. A detailed asset history is included too, of course. Every asset also has a set of fields available, and it's up to you exactly what you want to track.
Data can be exported and linked to other systems; the inventory serves as a reliable source of truth for the physical and technical state of your assets.
No. Any regular phone with a camera and our Android app is enough for a stock-take — a dedicated terminal is only optional. It's likewise up to you whether you want to track assets with barcodes at all, or whether inventory without that feature is enough.
You import data using built-in tools from xls, csv or sql, and sync users straight from Active Directory.
